Blah.

Endure.

"Enjoy when you can, and endure when you must."
-Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Never a truer quote for cycling in general, but even more self evident while riding a single speed.

Random bike stuff:

Random bike stuff:
Old but worthy-Tension at breakfast: A nifty translation of a Spanish article that has been in the presses a bunch recently on the Rivalry between Contador and Lance: Not a pretty picture of a unified team. Well worth the read if you are curious to the dynamics and power of Lance Armstrong. As far as I know this is the only true translation.

Lemond Stories of 1989- good stuff. It is a 3 part series.
Part 1. Part 2.

Races bought and cocaine use in the peleton? Who would have ever thought....Not news.

Finally, some carnage from the Classica. Sick descending in pour down rain.

Bitchin'

Poached this image from Velonews- They had a nice piece on the 2010 Tour.
It is interesting to see how far bikes have come since the early 80's/late 70's. I think there might have been more art in riding one of those older rigs with friction shifters vs. todays drive trains.

Lust for life.

Merlin used to promote their bikes/materials as the "marathon metal" meaning it would last forever. There are very few things bike related that I think will last forever and Ti bikes are certainly worthy of that title...especially Steve Potts ti bikes. In the background is a Merlin Newsboy- my all time favorite bike.

Other.

"The James Dean of his generation" - Le Soir

While the story is not entirely clear as to what happened to VDB, it is clear that he had been struggling like other former champions like Pantani and Jose Jimenez.

Another rider fighting for his life-heal up quick Jonny.
The epitome of why? Why would anyone bother building a ultra lite bike with a Fuji???

Waffle NYC- I have been meaning to get me some Belgian style waffles...

No suprise considering their star rider had blood levels that remained the same through the TDF- Suspect? Hell ya!

Some stuff off of the interweb related to some industry events like the Roc, Interbiker and the Euro show:

Hope:Some of the finest quality components in the biz. From their hubs to their brakes Hope makes stuff that is on par or better than anyone elses stuff.
Skyde- A French ti bike builder making classic pieces of work. It reminds me of the mid to late 90's when ti was the material of choice.

Euro ugly- Wow....a new level in ugly.

Vandenbroucke: Another victim of the doping culture found dead.

Although never a saint, it is still sad to see the passings of one of the greats.

Godspeed.

Bits.

Yehuda moon:

Jamming Jones: WTF? No single speed? Next year I am coming to stay out at Jones place for some kliller single track riding in Bend OR.

Believe or not...I have a suit that looks like Gary's....
Tight long smooth climbs with an abundance of green. Thanks Rapha.

A pair of beauties stolen from the IF site.
